My latest column, on Orlando Rutledge’s scoring binge, is here. The guy has scored 27 points twice in USI’s last three games. But the tale will be told in Great Lakes Valley Conference games. Up first is Missouri-St. Louis on Thursday, and the Tritons, 7-2 so far, were picked to win the GLVC West. So far they are fourth in the league in scoring offense (83.2 points per game) but 14th in scoring defense (72.3). Their top players are Joshua McCoy, who ranks fourth in the GLVC with an 18.3 scoring average; Darian Cartharn (13.6); and Charlie Woods (12.2).
By the way, Rutledge’s 17.4 scoring average ranks sixth in the GLVC. The leader is Wisconsin-Parkside’s Jeremy Saffold at 20.6 points per game — the only player at 20 or above in the conference.
