Column online and Little value

My latest column on USI basketball is here. Besides taking a look ahead to USI’s exhibition game scheduled for Wednesday at the Physical Activities Center, it mentions some players who have raised their game lately. I did forget to mention senior guard Melvyn Little’s contribution over the weekend: 18 points in two games, with a season-high 10 against Nova Southeastern (that compares to his season average of 3.8 points coming into this weekend). The Eagles need shooting off the bench, and Little can provide that. Standing 6-foot-3, he’s tall for a guard in Division II. If he can average eight to 10 points in that role — call it instant offense — USI should win a lot of games.
