Former New Harmony girls’ basketball coach and athletic director Larry Kahle has been named North Posey’s girls’ basketball coach. Kahle guided the Rappites to their only two sectional titles in school history, in volleyball in 2001 and girls’ basketball in ’02. Kahle, who retired after the 2010 season, had a combined total of more than 300 wins as a boys’ and girls’ coach.
“We are confident that coach Kahle will continue to build on the successful girls’ basketball program at North Posey,” said North Posey athletic director Virgil Ferguson. “His experience as a head coach is beyond reproach.”
Kahle served as the Vikings’ girls’ basketball freshman coach last season. He replaces Tracy Stroud, who resigned earlier this year to take a sales position with Elbert Construction. Stroud posted a 94-69 record in seven years at North Posey, including back-to-back Class 2A sectional titles in 2014 and ’15.
