Pendleton transfers to Minnesota State-Mankato

Bosse High School graduate Jalen Pendleton has announced that he is transferring from Southern Illinois University to Minnesota State-Mankato. Since he is transferring from a NCAA Division I school to a Division II school, he will not have to sit out next season.
Pendleton, a 6-foot-2, 205-pound guard, will have one year of eligibility remaining. He averaged 9.1 points as a sophomore for the Salukis and was named to the Missouri Valley Conference All-Bench Team. But his scoring average dipped to 6.6 as a junior, even though he started 14 games. He also averaged 2.9 rebounds.
Minnesota State-Mankato finished 24-8 last season, advancing to the Division II tournament. Pendleton is one of five former Salukis who elected to transfer at the conclusion of the 2014-15 season. He lifted Bosse to the Class 3A semistate in 2012.
SIU finished 12-21 this past season.
