While Harrison’s Ernie Duncan’s stock may have risen through his solid performance for the Indiana Junior All-Stars against their senior counterparts, Bosse’s JaQuan Lyle skipped the final Juniors vs. All-Stars game on Wednesday night, instead playing for the Bulldogs in an exhibition scrimmage against Henderson. According to reports, Bosse coach Shane Burkhart pulled his team off the floor with 7:40 remaining. But don’t get too excited, people. It’s summer ball, for crying out loud. It doesn’t count!
What is more important in the long run is that Lyle is still looking at seven schools, even though he had previously indicated he was going to cut it to four on Wednesday. The five-star prospect’s final list is apparent front-runners Indiana University and NCAA champion Louisville, plus Illinois, Ohio State, Florida, UCLA and Tennessee.
Lyle had stated that he might wait until the fall signing period in November, or even next spring, to make his decision.
Here’s hoping Duncan and Lyle will have many memorable battles this winter in their senior high school season, before moving on to college ball. Maybe they can meet at the Ford Center. City officials, are you listening?
