Southridge High School senior running back Connor Craig injured his knee and is sidelined for the rest of the season. He tore his anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament in the third quarter of the Raiders’ 28-20 victory over North Posey last Friday night.
He was averaging 7.8 yards per carry in gaining 297 yards rushing. The Raiders (3-1) are tied for fourth in the latest Associated Press Class 2A poll, released Tuesday.
Craig hopes to return sometime during basketball season; he also plays baseball. He rushed for 1,781 yards and 22 touchdowns in leading Southridge to a 10-3 record and a sectional title last fall. Craig was a Prime Time 25 cover boy of the 2014 Indiana Football Digest.
