Central High School third baseman-pitcher Will Ray was awarded the 2014 Bob Coleman/Joe Unfried Scholarship, given by the Tri-State Hot Stove League to the area’s top senior baseball player.
He hit .500 with 23 runs batted in for the Bears and was 3-3 on the mound with one save. The award also recognizes an athlete as a student and citizen. Ray was a member of several organizations, including the National Honor Society.
He was a first-team all-Southern Indiana Athletic Conference selection as a senior and sophomore and a second-teamer as a junior. Ray will play next season for Olney Central College.
