Tori Schickel scored 23 points and Maura Muensterman 20 as Mater Dei’s girls’ basketball team routed host Bosse, 70-20, on Thursday night to clinch a tie for the Southern Indiana Athletic Conference girls’ championship.
The Class 3A No. 2-ranked Wildcats improved to 18-1 overall and 6-0 in the SIAC. They conclude league play at Castle (10-6, 4-1) on Feb. 6. Bosse is 11-7, 3-3.
Meanwhile, Jackie Young poured in 28 points to lift Princeton host past Jasper, 53-43, as the Tigers wrapped up their first Big Eight Conference girls’ title with a 6-0 record.
“It’s a testament to the players on the team,” said Princeton coach Charlie Mair. “They’ve worked hard and it was a great win for them. To win it for the first time in 34 years, it makes me feel humble.”
Ranked No. 1 in Class 3A, the Tigers boosted their record to 19-0 overall. Jasper is 11-8, 3-3.
