JaQuan Lyle, a 6-foot-5 point guard ranked No. 22 in the Class of 2014 by rivals.com, is expected to wait until spring the make his college choice.
Lyle, who played three years for Bosse High School before transferring to Huntington (W.Va.) Prep for his senior season, made an oral commitment to defending NCAA champion Louisville last June, then de-committed in September.
Huntington coach Rob Fulford told me that Lyle is unsure where he wants to go and will probably wait until the April signing period.
Lyle’s latest round of official offers have come from Connecticut, Kansas, Memphis and Arizona. He has made unofficial visits to UConn and Memphis.
Indiana, Kansas State and Oregon are reportedly among the other schools still in contact with Lyle, who averaged 27 points, 13.4 rebounds and 6.8 assists in leading Bosse to a 19-6 record last winter.
He was an Indiana Junior All-Star, but has raised eyebrows by transferring from Bosse to Huuntington Prep and changing AAU teams on several occasions.
