Mater Dei keeps rolling toward an undefeated regular season

MATER DEI (7-0, 5-0) at CENTRAL (5-2, 3-2), 7 p.m. Friday
MD rolled to a 35-0 lead in playing its best half of the season last week against Bosse, then coasted to a 48-28 win. Watch out, Central. Bears QB Austin Fuchs has an ailing knee.

Prediction: Mater Dei 42, Central 24

BOSSE (4-3, 3-2) at REITZ (5-2, 4-1), 7 p.m. Friday
After winning three thrillers in a row, the Bulldogs came crashing back to earth against MD. Reitz is seeking its fifth consecutive victory.

Prediction: Reitz 38, Bosse 28

HARRISON (1-5, 0-5) vs. MEMORIAL (1-6, 1-4), 7 p.m. Friday, Enlow Field

After giving Central a good shot last week, Memorial hopes to use it as a springboard against Harrison.

Prediction: Memorial 35, Harrison 31

NORTH (2-5, 1-4) at CASTLE (4-3, 3-2), 7 p.m. Friday
The Huskies led Reitz 16-7, before giving up two TDs in the final 3:34. Will they recover against Castle, which is becoming more diversified? I doubt it.

Last week: 4-0
Overall: 28-7.

  1. As one of my favorite bands, Warrant, once sang, “HEAVEN ISN’T TOO FAR AWAY!!! CLOSER TO IT EVERY DAY!!!!” Well for me, Heaven is Franklin Street the 1st full week of October! My days this week have started at 10 AM sharp, when the food booths open. I eat various food stuffs until about 2, when I head home to recharge the Rascal (Yes, my sweet baby is back!), and take a lil power nap. I then return to Franklin St, where I stay until close. My first two days have been AWESOME! I have met some awesome people on the steps of the library and have seen some pretty cool fashion styles. However, I would like to speak with a WSNC Representative as the Carnies this year have been especially rude! Do they not understand that the Rascal is not just my baby, but it is also my lifestyle. I need to park it near the entrance to the ride, so that I can quickly exit and reenter my scooter. Also, I’m not making fun of their Slayer and MotorHead shirt, so please do not make fun of my Eddy Grant or Mister Mister shirt!

The Kitties just flat euthanized the BooDawgs. I know the Boys at Benjamin J. want to talk about the FURIOUS comeback they had in the 4th Quarter, but come on…if they want to discuss their awesomeness against the Junior Junior Varsity, then that tells me all I need to know about their staff (aka High School Coaching All-Stars). The Boo Boo’s need to just cut their losses and head to Franklin St. early.

We have already discussed the BooDawgs and their futility last week. The RHS boys needed a miracle against the Nicknames to be determined last week. The biggest issue the RHS boys will have is insuring that the players haven’t eaten their weight in grease this week or tried to fight the Carnies.

The Tiggers just can’t get over the hump. The Injuns are just terrible. Brunson has done nothing to improve the team attitude or performance. I will give him credit though. At this point for the last 4-10 years, There would only be about 18 kids TOTAL on the sideline. At least this year, there are 25-30…

The Nicknames to be determined let one slip away last week and are continuing to just fall down the hill. Now, throw in the Fall Festival and the streak will continue this week. Szabo has no idea how to deal with the monstrosity that is Monster Ear Heaven. The Squires win this one with ease.
    Squires 28-10.

See you on Franklin Street. Come say hi if you see me. Today, I have selected my Glass Tiger shirt to wear, so look for me!
