Otters’ Morrow acquired by San Diego Padres

Bryce Morrow has become the second Evansville Otter to have his contract purchased by an affiliated team this season. Morrow, a righthanded pitcher, was acquired by the San Diego Padres. He retired 14 consecutive batters at one point on Sunday, but Normal rallied for a 5-4 walk-off win. For the season, Morrow was 6-2 with a 3.29 earned run average for the Otters in 11 starts. He struck out 59 while walking 13 and allowing 64 hits in 71 innings.

Earlier, first baseman Andrew Clark signed with Trenton, the New York Yankees’ Double-A affiliate. Clark hit .421 with seven home runs and 24 runs batted in, in 24 games with Evansville.

About Gordon Engelhardt

Many moons ago, I was a semipro baseball pitcher and my love for the grand old game continues unabated. I was lucky enough to cover the White Sox in the 1983 ALCS and the Cubbies in the 1984 NLCS while living in northern Illinois. I have covered several Cardinals games, but never in postseason.
