This weekend my friend Brandi will be marrying her best friend Dave. What makes this wedding even more special is that Brandi and Dave are also expecting a precious Christmas present — a baby! Their child is due that day. And during the wedding Brandi will be revealing if baby LaRoux is a boy or a girl (I know, I know!) I’m excited that not only am I in on this secret, I have the opportunity to plan and execute the gender reveal.
Brandi is one of those friends who can be wild and crazy one second and really listen to your woes and give some great (while often gut-wrenchingly “real”) advice moments later. We cried and laughed over way too many diet cokes and queso at Real Ha, she was right there when I lost my father and has been one of two people that I continually counted on for help with Miles while we lived in Anderson, hours away from our closest family member.
She brought me Pedialyte when Michael was out of town when Miles and I were covered in baby puke, she watched Miles countless times while both Michael and I had to work weekend shifts or if we wanted a night out, helped throw an owltacular baby shower and she spoiled my little guy with stuff and love.
I’m happy to be able to celebrate Brandi and Dave’s wonderful day with them and look forward to Brandi having her own “stupid, little baby” (the phrase she lovingly — seriously, she meant it with love — referred to my son from pregnancy on).
