I was going through my wedding pictures the other day and enjoyed so much remember what a wonderful day it was. So many people get wrapped up in the tiny little details of ensuring it is a “perfect and beautiful day” that they prevent it from becoming just that.
Mine was perfect and beautiful because I had an amazing time (and had some pretty talented family and friends make it that way.)
It is about celebrating committing to your partner for life and enjoying that moment with all of the most important people in your life. Although we got married in Louisiana — several states from most of my friends and family — nearly everyone that I really wanted to be there was able to make it.
I joked with my husband that your wedding day is one of the only days that the people from every aspect of your life (family, friends from school, home, work, old works, college, etc.) are ever in the same place at the same time. The only other time that will probably happen will be your funeral and you won’t be there to enjoy it.
I love this picture because it is of me peeking out to see all those important people in my lives start to arrive at the plantation home where I got married.
