With a winter that seemed to linger this year I didn’t think we’d have a chance to say those words. But after moaning and groaning about how cold it was, we’ve now all moved on to complaining about the heat.
With the holiday last weekend we had plenty of time as a family to be outside and enjoying ourselves. Miles and I spent Saturday with my mom, sister and nephew at the Rendezvous in my hometown of Vincennes. We had an awesome time, so good of a time I didn’t take a single picture with my camera!
Sunday afternoon Miles and I planted several plants my mom dug up from her beautiful garden and as a family planted our first tree — hope it survives. Although the day was a hot one, it was great to be outside as a family.
And the warmest of days was our bonus day off Monday. We went to Boonville’s City Lake Park that was pretty darn cool. It had playgrounds, a beautiful lake to walk around and best of all a big splash pad with lots of activities.
Miles wasn’t real certain about it at first and never really got wet. He enjoyed himself by watching the other kids, jumping in puddles and running around the car washesque devices. Michael and I enjoyed watching him have such a good time.
This weekend may hold similar activities for us. We have a play date scheduled in rural Posey County with a good friend and then Sunday may venture to Smothers Park in Owensboro.
